The staff at Chicago Autism and Behavior Specialists pride ourselves on providing comprehensive ABA treatment programs that are uniquely tailored to your child's individual needs. Our small and close-knit teams, led by our Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs), work closely with parents and caregivers to ensure that skills taught have the greatest impact on the family and child's quality of life. Keeping long term goals in mind, our programs focus on teaching children to learn to love learning.  Individualized treatment plans are created to ensure we are shaping a well rounded learner. Skills such as problem solving, referencing, impulse control, waiting, and self-regulation are incorporated throughout our sessions which emphasize social engagement and revolve around our client's motivation.

Our programs utilize a variety of applications of ABA including Verbal Behavior (VB), Pivotal Response Training (PRT), Natural Environment Teaching (NET), Precision Teaching (PT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).  Understanding our client's strengths while slowly introducing new challenges allows us to create confident learners. Common skills addressed within ABA programs include communication, leisure and play, academics, self-help, independence, fine and gross motor development, receptive and expressive language, articulation and more.

Once an evaluation has been completed, an individualized treatment plan will be created for your child.  Data is collected and graphed daily and progress is monitored weekly. Our general rule is that we should see progress on a target within two weeks; teaching procedures are constantly monitored and adjusted if necessary. Parents are encouraged to participate in ABA sessions and weekly to bi-weekly parent coaching sessions are strongly encouraged. ABA sessions are typically 2-3 hours in duration, and clients typically receive a 10-30 hours of therapy a week.  Sessions can be in the home or clinic setting and often are a combination of both.  Session notes and videos are available for parents to review and share progress with outside therapies and schools.
