This program is intended for those clients with ASD who are verbal and are able to communicate their wants and needs but have difficulty forming friendships, playing non-preferred games, and interacting with peers in flexible ways. Our social worker works with our BCBAs to create individualized treatment plans that focus on your child's primary challenges. Sessions are implemented in both the clinic and community settings, and children are grouped together based on age and social emotional level as determined by intake assessments. Behavior challenges and communication deficits may interfere with opportunities to form social relationships. In these cases, it may be necessary to supplement your child's social skills program with additional behavioral support or pre-teaching of concepts before peers are introduced.
